What can you tell me about this motor...

Diesel Generator

I'd think the turbos would suck in the BHAf and not miss a beat :D.

In general, the bigger the engine, the more efficient it is in terms of fuel consumption vs load. Think about the 11-19liter semi engines, getting 6-8MPG with a GCVW of 80K. With a 8K CTD getting 20mpg (and doing well to do so, but I am keeping the math simple), the 80K semi "should" only get 2mpg (10X the weight, 10x the fuel usage). More heat is retained in the cumbustion chamber, moving pistons & making power instead of heating antifreeze like a smaller engine will do. Take the semi to pickup comparison to the extreme and it should hlep you understand why it is so efficient.

So, in theory, a K19 in a pickup would get better MPGs than a B5. 9 in a pickup while moving the same load. I havent ever tried it in real life, so I cant tell with any degree of authority.

Another way to think of it is to ask how many semis would it take to move the same load the ship would move? LOTS of them is an understatement.

Can we get that link put in a sticky?

I seen that engine on "Modern Marvels" on TV. Its used in container ships . A guy opens a door and gets inside the crank case for inspection. Its direct drive to the 30 ? foot propeller. Its impressive for sure.
