If you have not seen it yet, check out this new bumber Rod at Wildcat Diesel has. I guess his buddy is making them for him. I just spoke to Rod and he says the guy is working on a rear bumber now to match it. The front bumper only weighs 120 lbs. Go to the Dodge page on his web site and hit accessories, it's called "Spankys Bush-Push". I'm saving my pennies to make this my next BOMB. Now I need to go check on the price of a winch.

I like it, it looks good, but how much is it and whats the deal with no warranty on it for 4x4 trucks??? what does the type of truck have to do with it?

Good question, just noticed that myself. If anyone finds out what the deal is with the no 4X4 warranty would you let us know? I seen the pricing information on his web page (it's not cheap), look at the pricing page.

Dont the sports have a different headlight assembly? Doesnt the sport headlight and grill sit lower??.

$1300 HOLY COW !!!!

Yeah, but Rod swears by Ian's bumper! The Sport grille can be modified to allow enough clearance for the bumper... by cutting it.

I like the looks of that bumper, kinda like the ARB's but much (80lbs!) lighter. If I didn't already have a front end replacement bumper, I'd really consider one of these.

Just my $. 02 worth.

I don't believe Ian wants to have to repair trail damage. Just my take. I may be wrong...

On another note, am I the only one ordering a "Pu$$y Cat Claw" shifter? I swear, that's the name of the product! And... I DID order one.

duaneparks,

Thats the reason I was talking to Rod, called him to order my pu$$y cat shifter knob. I sure wish it had a TDR logo on it.

That is a real nice bumber but they need to make a model for the Sport trucks. I know I could make it fit by cutting, but that is not going to happen to my truck. I think the only diff between sport and non sport is that the grill sticks down about 2 inches lower. Could they not just cut out a bit of the bunper to make room for the grill??

$1300 is really not that bad of a price considering that others such as the ARB are just as much or more.

I LIKE IT!!!!!!!

FINALLY!!... i think i have found my bumper... . at a price i can afford. looks like a road armor variation a bit (which is what i really want). thanks to Ray for posting this, TIM

I guess I'm a cheap skate, but I just can't see sepending 1300 for a bumper, especially one that I won't have a warranty on... . its a nice bumper, just not $1300 nice to me... ...

I have seen this bumper in Person and it is well worth the money!!!! Very well designed and functional. Ian Hoyle is the best fab/welder guy I have ever met and had the pleasure of working with to date!!!!!

I think Ian could build it for a better price if he was down here in the States.

don't get me wrong, I wasn't saying the bumper wasn't worth the money due to workmanship or quality, it looks to be of the highest quality,

I'm just poor and cheap and can't afford to buy something for 1300 :{ ,,,,,,I just lurk and wait for used ones to go up for sale and then buy 'em... . :D

Nice bumper, don't like the "No Warrenty for 4X4"... cool thing would to paint the bumper and just like that, my truck looks more like a sport version ;-) Price - well, any after market thing will cost a bit more.

I also noticed that the free shipping on $400 or more excludes the bumper... so I wonder it would cost for shipping and how well is it shipped.

Michael

I just read on another website that there will be a SPORT version of this bumber available eventually. If his back bumper looks as good as the front I will have to get the pair this spring on my bombing mission to Canada... :D :D

Talked to Rod

I talked to Rod again and the reason for the "No warranty on 4X4" is that the builder doesn't want to be responsible for shipping and fixing bumpers that were messed up by the incorrect use of a winch. I guess you can really mess up a bumber by the incorrect application of a winch and they are trying to avoid that. This is what I got from our short conversation about the subject. If you have more questions give Rod a call, he's a very plesant guy to talk to and has some very good information.

Hate to burst everyones bubble, but 12 guage steel won't last long in an off road situation, perhaps the reason for the warranty denial on 4x4 trucks. In my opinion, trailready bumpers are the best on the market right now, just too much money.
