behind a big rig...what the H happened???

Tour Bus Driver - HOW??????

I have once. Quick to react on snow in 3rd gear while on a turn and my wet boot slipped off the clutch.

not been stalled since.

Anyone else? Who's managed to stall an auto with a really tight converter and the lock up switch hit at the wrong time?

My wife stalled it once or twice (learning a stick)... it rattles, makes all sorts of scary noises that I never want to hear again! It also threw a code for the CPS if I remember correctly.

I have stalled mine a couple times as well, mostly messing around or not paying attention to what gear I was in. I do recall throwing a 0336 cps code as well. The commonrail is probably one of the hardest to stall out, due to the fueling.

I stalled my friends 97 a few years ago. I was plowing a Sonic parking lot and their was a pipe cap in the middle of it. Killed it right there. I that thing so hard that my head hit the a-pillar. Those v-plows don't spring down good at all. -Jason

I intentionally stalled mine once when my shutdown solenoid had died and I had zip tied it up. When I got home, I put it in 5th and let the clutch rip. I was surprised at how hard the truck pulled against the brakes. The truck didn't stop shaking for a few seconds.

That clutch pedal is slippery when wet. I almost slipped off twice today. The second time I put in neutral while starting. I guess I should find a better pedal pad before something bad happens. Any suggestions?

My 15 year old daughter managed to stall it while we were doing some driver's education in the middle of a 40 acre field. I didn't think she could stall it but she is getting better. She was just a little nervous is all.

Stalled when new.

I stalled mine once when new. I shifted from 2nd to 5th@ maybe 15mph. Sucked. :{ Another vehicle which is hard to stall is the TDI. Those vehicles have enormous low end torque for their size. Wife wouldn't let me buy the last Ca approved TDI in Ca. :{

I have never stalled mine but, I have stalled my bosses auto powerjoker while I was pulling a loaded tractor trailer up a steep incline at a job site :-laf

Stalled my '05 just once. Foot slipped off the clutch at a stop light. Sure glad I had my foot firmly planted on the brake or I would have owned the car in front of me. As others have said the pedal is slippery when wet. . Mine set the CPS code as well

a few times... once with wet boots & pedals after coming out of a car wash. once a few weeks ago when i found 4th instead of 2nd when starting off.

i stalled an old 97 flowerstroke at work in an F-superdoody. . drove it like i drive mine and it didn't like starting off in 2nd. . although that old 5 speed in it [zf5???] shifted real smooth with no clutch action

My first CTD a '98 24v wasn't hard to stall. If I lugged it very much taking off bringing the RPM down to about 5-600 RPM it would just bomb out. I stalled it several times taking off from a light. My '98. 5 was a VERY early 24v (engine was built 12/23/97) and sometime after that they changed the programming to add more fuel if RPM dropped below idle speed. I could idle in 2nd gear and kill it with a little brake. Not my 2001, do the same thing and it would fuel so hard to maintain idle RPM it just powered right through the brake. . . not safe IMO.

I've not stalled mine (yet), but once I wished it did stall.

Pulled into a parking space 3 ft. in front of a tree. Wasn't thinking, and released the clutch before putting it in neutral.

To this day, I don't think I've ever reacted faster to anything. I did not touch the tree, but it was very close.

only stalled my 5sp once, wasnt thinking and went to launch from a light still in 4th gear... it actually got the truck rolling before it stalled out when I came off the clutch completely. No codes. truck will idle with loaded trailer up a really steep hill, have to work real hard to stall it out... well I guess once or twice I almost stalled letting off the clutch parking (forget to slide into N).

I've done this not paying attention... thinking it was already in neutral, then rapidly releasing the clutch... it makes one big racket, especially will a pintle hitch trailer on the back (slop in the hitch). I did that once, learned my leason.

I have also purposely released the clutch with the service brakes applied... it is scary to know that in 1st gear, you cannot stop the truck (it will slide the front wheels, and continue to move forward) regardless of brake pedal input, even at idle.

I did once after driving my wifes car, which is an automatic, on a long trip.

Details details... ... .

What's worse is going from the manual to an auto and mistakenly stepping on the "clutch"...

Once you pick your nose out of the windshield, you learn not to do that again...
