So, I decided it was time to go in and factory order my 2015 truck. The dealer order software was giving my sales guy all sorts of problems.

I'm looking to order a 2015 Laramie Limited 3500 SRW with the Aisin. When going through the options section it will not allow the tow prep group (AHU) {and yes we did select the rambox delete option} and does not even show the rear air suspension (SEB). Is there something we're missing?

I was also wondering about the "electronic upfitter module"? Anyone know what it is or what its for? Its not available in the Laramie Limited due to some sort of conflict with the premium speakers. I will be adding the auxiliary instrument panel switches to control the extra do-dads I'll be installing later on.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Not sure either. Over on forum 'B' there's a few guys who have claimed to order 2015's with success. Until the brochure comes out with specs, I'm not sure even the dealers know what going on. I'm not sure anyone does, including Ram. Supposedly, there are no changes between the 14 - 15 models.

As far as the 3500 air suspension, I'm betting that Ram ran into problems. If not, it would have been available late 14 as the brochure stated.

I'm looking for the same get up as you....SRW-Aisin-Laramie combo. The dealers in my hood are acting like chickens with no heads that want to sell me a 2014 that does not have what I want. I'm gonna have to learn to be patient

Apparently there are other trucks "in transit" that have these options separately and with other powertrain combinations. But for the money they want, I am not willing to compromise. I too will just have to be patient.

If they want to sell me a truck, they are going to have to figure it out.

I will be going by the dealership today to pick up the wife's new 300 so we'll see if they have made any progress.

Sorta. The dealership confirmed that the options I want are not exclusive of each other. Apparently when their system switched over to the 2015 model year it introduced a couple of glitches. We will be building the truck as far as possible in the computer tomorrow and then the general manager will call in the remaining options. I'm told it will have the same end result. I told them it had better or I wont take the truck! I guess we'll find out in 6 to 8 weeks.

The only downside to this whole process is that the wife went with me to look and we ended up driving away in a new Chrysler 300 for her!!

I hope you learned a valuable lesson today brother.

Yup! Ten years from now when I'm looking for another truck I'll be flying solo!!

But, I will admit it's a real nice step up from the 2004 Jeep Liberty she's been driving since new. A new car every 10 years is not so bad. Although the SRT model had my attention more than the V6 with AWD that we drove home.

Axion, did you have any luck? I tried to order yesterday and my dealer couldn't get it to process either in the configuration I want.

The upfitter module is described on rambodybuilder. It is mostly for building an ambulance, etc. where you have to tap into the PowerNet electrical architecture a lot of places. It is also called VSIM (vehicle system interface module) or electronic monitoring module, XXS. In 2013 it cost $325 iirc.

One thing to remember is that when you add the extra aux switches to the panel, it removes many of the convenience pushbuttons ( seat heat and cool, steering wheel warmer, etc.) and you then have to go into the uconnect/nav unit to operate the features. This is a bit cumbersome compared to the pushbuttons.

So, I'm not missing out with the upfitter module. And I was wondering where the aux switches went. I'll have to take a closer look at the buttons when I'm at the dealership today.

As far as the truck goes. It would appear we have two separate issues. I mentioned the glitch with the tow prep group (AHU). Apparently the rear air suspension (SEB) is a late availability option. Even if I put the order in now, they won't build the truck till November, which means I wouldn't see it till December or even January. Maybe I'll just have to see what they have for 2014's without SEB and put in the bags myself like I did for my current truck.

Hmmm, decisions, decisions.

I guess I worded that a bit wrong.......they don't add more buttons, it is the same set of switches, the "aux" ones are just not used for the functions I mentioned earlier, they left unassigned to be used for whatever you want.

Sam

You were perfectly clear Sam, I caught your drift.

As it turns out, I put a deposit on an available 2014 in white. Definitely not my first color choice but I think I can live with it. And it won't have the factory airbags but PacBrake has a kit for the 2014 3500's and I have those same bags on my 2006 so it should work out ok. The only other thing it does not have is the aux switches, but based on what Sam said, it might be better without them.

So, now its just the wait! Truck is on a train car somewhere. I'll have to start a new thread when I take delivery.

Thanks again for all the help.

White is a great color!!

The OEM air suspension is going to be pretty awesome, quite different to what the 2014 with airbags will be like.
