If your having trouble viewing the digital magazines here are a couple of things we've found:

1) They use Adobe Flash - so you must have Adobe Flash installed in order to view them. There has also been a couple instances where a persons flash player simply had problems and installing the latest flash player got them up and running. You can download the latest flash update here: Adobe - Install a different version of Adobe Flash Player - note I would suggest you not install any add on security packages they are offering there and rely on your own.

2) If your trying to use an Ipad or Iphone we're sorry but your out of luck for now. Apple has steadfastly refused to support flash at this time. Hopefully they will change their minds on that soon.

3) If your running a Macintosh and your running Safari we had one customer that couldn't get it running on that browser. As we don't have many known Mac users I don't know for sure if it's a Safari problem or just on his machine. He downloaded firefox on his Mac and that got him right in so you might try that: Mozilla Firefox Web Browser ? Free Download

need help with the digital versions. they come up ok (not flash related), but the resolution is horrible. it is not possible to read these issues on my blackberry playbook. again, the pages load fine (and strange enough, the full page ads are legible easily), but the print sections appear to be scanned at a very low resolution. please advise. thank you.

You are probably using your playbook to zoom in on the page and not using the controls on the page to do so. So your zooming way in on a very small image. Try clicking on the page to make it full size on your screen and then look at the controls at the top of the magazine and using those to zoom in on the page. The text is actually rendered text - not a scanned image. Once made full size it should be as clear as any text you view on your screen.

thank you. the images are much better! one more issue is the controls work backwards. if i slide my finger to the right, the screen moves left. doesn't move with the finger, but in the opposite direction. thoughts?

thanks!

That's the way it works - what your pointing your finger at is the place where your looking at the page. So your not moving the page - your moving where your eyes are looking at on the page and it's re-centering it on your screen. It's not something we have control over, it's a built in function of issuu.

When I try to view a magazine it ask for a username and password. I put in my username and password and this it blanks to a page saying authorization required. I'm not very computer smart but if you have any idea I'd appreciate the help.

Is there a way to print from the digital magazine?

I'd like to take pages out to the truck when working on a project...

I also have the question about printing pages from the digital issues. I was able to print selected pages from issues 40-44, bur I have not been able to print from any newer issue. What's up? Thanks.

I'm able to read the index and magazine lists just fine. However, when I click on a particular issue I get pretty much nothing. I'm running the latest flash version 11. 4. 402. 265. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi ,robin this is gus bellm,s wife and he is trying to look up issuse 73,and the darn computer will not open up. can you please help? Thank,s sharon bellm.

TDRadmin,

I am able to login to the forums but not able to login and view the digital issues. I have just installed the latest Flash. I recently renewed my membership this weekend so maybe it has something to do with that. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have the same problems with digital issues can't see them or print or anything else. keeps asking for name and password and then rejecting them.

I apologize. The server upgrade is causing this issue right now. We will have it corrected just as soon as possible. We are also signing a contract with an independent company to create significantly higher quality digital magazines. We hope to have Issue 81 available as a download to your Apple equipment or as a very easy to maneuver digital magazine via a browser. Once those are working well, we'll move toward the other types of digital readers. Thank you for your patience.

TDRadmin,

Having trouble trying to view a past issue. A Windows Security box comes up requesting login info. I'm already logged in and it won't accept what I put in???? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for the help!

BFurton,

Some of this is nerd talk, you can skip if it you wish and go right to the steps below, but I'm offering the details for anyone interested. It has to do with a newer version of the PHP software on the newer servers.

Since the server migration we've seen a few issues where a variable set by the PHP code which maintains your authentication status hasn't carried over to the new server. I experienced this as well as an admin, and this is what I trace it to:
The software here is set up to use both the login cookie and an authentication variable PHP sets on the server to maintain your authentication state. The "security token" the PHP software sets does not appear to be backwards-compatible with the older server's version of PHP. It has to be reset by clearing logging out, clearing cookies, and logging back in.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These are the steps I took which resolved it in 3 different browsers I've tested with since the migration:

1. Log off the forums.
2. Clear your browser cookies (if your browser allows it, clear only the cookies associated with www.turbodieselregister.com and turbodieselregister.com)
3. Log back in.
4. Go to the digital magazine page and enter your user id and password again (password is case sensitive).

This will reset your login cookie as well as the PHP authentication security token on the server's end for your user id.

I suggest anyone experiencing problems accessing the digital magazine try the above steps, and if they do not work then let us know.
