Yall like monster dogs???

Anyone install stretch tanks on there Bike?? What seat do you run with? Did it have to be modified? You would think it would be pretty simple to make a seat that fits with a two inch stretch... .

Corbin: We don't make one that will fit with a stretch tank...

My Response: All the 2" stretch tanks that are sold you don't make a seat that will fit?

Corbin: You'll have to modify it. .

My Response: You want me to spend $300. 00 on a seat that won't fit?

Corbin: That's why they call it custom.....

My Response: *&%^$#%*)(*&!!@#$%^&*(_(*&^%$#@

Anyone go through this??

Darren

Yeah I checked them and didn't like anything, but looks like I won't have a choice... hopefully I find one that fits... . Seeing how it is snowing today, I probably don't have to rush. . LOL

Darren

There are several seat manufacturers besides Corbin.

I had the same "we don't give a crap" response from them 2 years ago about a seat for my '76 FLH.

Went with Lepera Bare Bones with gel. Good for around town, but I wouldn't want to spend all day in it.

That's what the FLHTCUI-A is for. ;)

Check www.jpcycles.com or a search to find other vendors willing to help.

I think Jesse James of West Coast Choppers uses Danny Gray to build all of his seats.

Good luck.

Check out Danny Gray, builds custom seats for bikes. www.dannygray.com. I had him build a custom seat for a hard tail I built a couple of years ago. You can check out the seat and bike at www.fpcycle.com, click on the customer bike photos at the bottom of the page. My bike is the third one down, Tom - Haymarket. Danny isn't cheap, but you'll get exactly what you order.

Yeah looks like it is either going to be a Danny Gray or a LePera... Shovel is the Lepera that uncomfortable or are you just used to the cush of the FLHTCUI-A ??? How do you like the Gel? Would you get the gel again?

Darren

Dogue,

I got the Lepera 'cuz it was the lowest/thinnest seat I could find.

It goes well with my 16" apehangers.

I got the gel on the advice of a couple of buddies that recommended it for such a thin (1' thick) seat.

The gel IS worth the $$.

I like it for around town hot-rodding an hour or so at a time.

And yeah, my "Old-Man" butt is getting spoiled by the "Two Wheeled Lazy-Boy recliner":D ;)

Darren,

It is actually pretty comfortable (all things considered). I had the bottom padding thinned/firmer foam and the rear bolster increased to move me further forward (vertically challenged!) Danny sent a standard seat which I created a template to exactly match the contour of the tanks. My frame is stretched and the tanks are mounted a couple of inches further forward than a stock bike with extended tanks. I prefer the flat type seats as opposed to the tuffted material. I've done few couple hundred mile days with no problem. The seat is pretty firm so it doesn't collapse after a few miles like most stock seats.
