Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) head gasket replacement

Im getting ready to do the head gasket . Can anyone tell me how much is too much when having the head milled? Can i gain more power by having it shaved a certain amount? Keeping in mind that i need this truck for work and i need it to be very reliable.

















99QCSB 2500 5 speed 4x4 K&N straight pipe 3 inch.

You can buy gaskets in . 010 and . 020 over. So if they have to mill you want to hit those numbers. You really ought to check the block as well.
