2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Head light problem

My wifes 97 has been blowing head lites about every 3 months and I thought it was just me handling them while installing, but now the passenger lite is out until she turns off the lite switch and it comes on real dim and then both lites go out. It does have the brite box on it. I have not tried unhooking it yet. Any suggestions would be great.
