I was wondering about the "Clear Lexan" covers from Geno's that protect the head lights.

1: How do they attach?

2: Cleaning after attached... how do we clean behind and between the head light and the attached cover?

3: Opinions of those who may have them now?

I have the Sport model and I like the clear look and would like to maintain the beautiful appearence for the long term. These devices look like the answer however, I would think "filmy poo-poo" would build up between the two surfaces?

You got that right! I helped out a little old lady who kept on running into things at night. Turned out she couldn't see because of the crud in-between the protector and headlamp. Cleaned it out and the headlights looked brand new, didn't help the looks much when I put the hazed covers back on though. I've seen ads for a thick 3M material that sticks to lamps to protect them, have no experience with it though.

I bought the thick film that stick to the lenses from Genos. I figured that I could replace it when needed. I have 2 years on it now still seem to be good.

Thank you Bill and tgbol... I thought it may lead to an additional service problem, I beleive the thick 3m film will be the correct choice here.

I think I am going to go for the film when I get my HID lights installed, got to protect the $70 bulbs...

I have the 3M covers from Geno's. They attach with a pre-applied adhesive. There is no possible way for dirt to get behind the thick film protector. Lighting is crystal clear.

BLACKRAM do you find after a wash job that water is behind the protective cover and the actual headlight? I'm trying to avoid the DREADED Filmy Poo Poo syndrome that may build up in time. Or for that matter up in Seattle with all the wet weather do you notice moisture migration in between the two surfaces?

I hate the dreaded filmy poo-poo thing;)
