I order two this past summer. One for the crew (may as well start off fresh) and one for the 90 as a spare. They are good quality. I would still recommend running lights and headlights on a relay though.

Good diagram Ray!

The crew never goes outside, you don't need any lights..............:D

Mike.

Yeah, same here. Melted several on the 90 in the last 12 years. Now all is on relay.

As for you Mike, meeeeeh why don't you just pull your lower lip over your head and swallow. :D:-laf lmao

I never even thought of relays I just got rid of the factory type switch, but the relays are a good idea.

Yeah, I thought about doing away with the switch. But then determined it was my running lights when I have a trailer on that was melting the unit. Second was the off road hella headlamps that would have been the second issue. So the relay solved both those issues and no harness to have to change. And that's a good thing. That is a ****ty area to get at. ;)

I burned one a few years back running 55w/100 bulbs in Cibie housings.

My headlight switches are now safe running the Trucklite LED headlights which pull 1.6amps on low & 3.2 amps on high...no relays, no harness, no flicker when the grid heaters are cycling as they have max output as low as 8v.

How do they compare light wise to the old Cibies though?

Definitely different. I've tried a couple generations of the TruckLites.
The current Phase 7 second revamp are excellent.
The cutoff is E-code like, but low beams have a very wide spread.
Unlike most lamps, high beams don't substitute for low beams, but add to them.
Its like a fog lamp + spot beam on steroids.
I won't go back to H4 housings again.
