help head lights went out on my truck the brights still work if I hold them on

fuses are good. where do I start?

Firstly and without malice, please post your signature so we-uns can know all the details.

You say the brights work in what we call flash-to-pass. Bingo, your bulbs, fuses, relays are ok. I think you'll find the headlight switch is going bad.

In my truck I can flash the high's with the headlights off just as you describe - it bypasses the dash mounted switch. Good luck, my friend!

ok I need to work on that

I will replace the switch

is there any mods to be done to put the projection style head lights on

Had same trouble/symptoms with mine. Headlight on/off switch was fine. The multi-function switch was the cause (intermittently). I just bought the new multi-function switch last week, 10/14/07, for around $79+ tax.

Start by sharing the year of the truck.

If my truck exhibited your symptoms, it would definitely NOT be the headlight switch.

Mine would go out when changing form high to low beam and then I would panic, no lights. I took the multi switch out and looked inside and made sure everything was moving in the right direction when it should, old lube will stop this and it has worked very well ever since. You will need some tamper proof tourqe bits to take it a part.
