Competition Tcolesanti to Iraq

I need help. I want to put a bigger charger on my 04. 5 ram a sled puller 66 and the company said I need a set of 100 hp injectors and head studs. Two questions. 1. what to buy first the charger and run it lean until I can buy injectors or get the injectors and run the stock charger rich until I can get the sled puller charger. 2 What do you guys think instead of using studs why not use a case hardened bolt like an L12 grade bolt???

Does anyone else think he can get that big of a turbo lit with stock injectors? I have heard the 3rd gens lite turbos better than others but that is a large turbo.

The 04. 5 have big injectors in them already compaired to the 03-04's. They provide fuel for about 600 hp or so and then some. Unlike the earlier third gens where the most you would see out of stock injectors was about 500.

Thanks for the info. I do not follow the 3rd gen real close.

You dont need injectors or head studs for that charger.

I would however suggest you get studs in the future or do it the cheap way and retorque your stock head bolts (which works well also).

so do I need studs for that turbo or not?? What about me using a case hardened bolt instead of studs????Will stock injectors get that turbo to fire good? I am currently running a bully dog downloader set to crazy larry edition??

I have been running a SP66 for 50,000miles plus with no injectors or head studs.

I am going to be doing studs in the near future along with injectors and modded CP3.

Keep it below 40ish and you will have no probs.

25 to 30k miles and I have kept the egt's on the tst's back down set at 1400 deg. most of the time I see only 1250~1350 max.

I was on a long road trip this summer with my fiver and egts hit 1400+ with just the smarty on 60 hp  turns out my rail valve was bad.

You're missing the point about studs vs. bolts. Studs clamp differently than a bolt. The mechanics involved are what makes a stud better. A bolt is twisted it's whole length, while a stud isn't. Alot of technical stuff that we'd need engineering degrees to explain, but I do understand the concept.
