Head Studs Install

What is the process to install head studs?



Do I have to yank the head off, or can I replace one bolt at a time following say the torque tightening sequence?

Valve cover, rocker box, and rockers must be removed. Replace one bolt at a time torqueing to about 90 ft/lbs. Long ones go along the exhaust manifold. After you get them all in go back through and torque to 122 ft/lbs and the world is happy. Reinstall rockers, rocker box and valve cover.

Hey Guys, When I installed my studs I had to grind the inside of the rocker box to get it to sit down over 1 stud cap in the very back on the center stud. Other then that just follow SRadkes instruction.

Good catch John, I had to do that also. Back stud in the center.
