Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Head Work

Is having a head o-ringed and fire ringed the same thing? What should it cost to have it done and who in the Houston area would you recommend? Thanks

Oringing and fire ringing are not the same.

Oringing uses the stock gasket and squeezes the wire oring into the firering in the stock gasket.

A firering replaces the firering in the stock gasket which requires a gasket with the ring removed.

The firering setup is showing to be a better system but does require more work.
