The day has come, so while we are letting others get their XXXX together and letting the MH warm up a bit before having to chase down BIGGER MH's to take back our windshield as was suggested might happen. :D

Will be checking back and hope to see some of you along the trail, if time allows.

Heading South to Southern Utah's National Parks

Big, there are better sights for free along the I-70 from Richfield to Green River. I believe we had conversations before about the Great SanRafael Reef. Maybe a good chance to put your MH to the test. Unless you venture down into Brice on a trail or horse back, it's not a lot to talk about, I've made that mistake before. BTW, are you permanently disabled, you can get a National Park Pass free for life, if disabled. Avoid the 15, and Paralell it with Utah 89 from Provo. It'll take you all the way to Zion NP. BTW, that's an awesome drive through Zion NP, and it's easier from hwy 89, not as many tourists entering that side. Me and wife rode the Harley through that route from Salt Lake. What awesome sights and true American Farms along the way. Made me want to buy a bit of property through there, but the wife squashed that idea, but she did enjoy it.

RVTRKN

89 takes a trip through MT Carmel tunnel, we could have gone that way but somewhere the in the info said that they have to close the tunnel for one way traffic for oversized rigs and a $15.00 bill to do it. Today after we set up in the RV park we took a ride WITHOUT THE TRAILERS or MH, I think that with the height of the MH and the other two 5er's we would have to straddled the center line to do it.

Besides the wife likes to stop in Mona UT at a Lavender Farm to get oils and fragrance for her soaps.

Stayed the night in a Truck Stop (loves just North of Cedar City UT) actually very clean and fuel pumps looked as if somebody actually cleaned them I went to the fuel drop fills and lifted the lid, Dry & clean

I fueled the MH and received a FREE SHOWER TICKET which I promptly turned and suggested to the trucker behind me at the counter TO USE IT!!! Good Lord I've shoveled Crap and worked my Butt off around animals AND NEVER DID I EVER SMELL AS RIPE AS THIS GUY.

Almost 9 MPG fighting a mild head wind with the rig loaded as heavy as it will be with provisions and liquids so I'm pretty happy with that!! we were averaging 60/65 MPH.

The exhaust and or air cleaner made a difference of 125 degrees in the EGT. The difference in the exhaust was from 4" plumbing to 5" without the offset drum style OEM muffler to the Aero Turbine.

The air cleaner was one of the sealed type that the entire thing was changed when replaced, I went with a Donaldson with a removable filter. OEM was said to be 1100 CFM the new one I installed was 1300 CFM.

So don't know what one made the difference in the EGT but it ran really good.

Even was able to keep the windshield in place when the BIG BOYS come rumbling by. :-laf

Well here are some great pictures my wife took as I slowed to a stop every opening to take the pictures in that tunnel. In fact they were just about to let the East bound traffic through when we surprized the Rangers as we exited the Tunnel with the Harley, I'm surprized they didnt give us a ticket.

Jumping the gun a bit, but I found myself on the other side of the Hudson this eve. Liberty state park runs its own ferry to the Statue of Liberty, and you can grab this sight. I gotta say, sometimes the iPhone impresses me.
Have a safe journey.

Zion is one of my favorite parks. Angel's Landing is an awesome hike if you have the endurance to make it through the switchbacks, and from there, all a guy needs is some brass to make it through the chain section. The Narrow's are also amazing if a person can time the weather right in order to safely hike into them.

I didn't like not being able to drive into the park and take my own tour, but once I got used to the tram system, I wouldn't have it any other way. So relaxing being able to let someone else do the driving and exhaust my time watching the world go by.

We stayed at the Zion River Resort which is a few miles out from the park, but is clean, has a nice pool and accommodated our former 36' TH without issue.

Had a Great visit at Zion and other sites in the area.

Moving to Tusayan AZ for a visit to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. We bought 4 Canyon Mules from a guy that he and I learned to Mule pack in the Sierra Mountains above Bishop CA. He's Graciously offered us a spot on his property for our base camp while viewing the Canyon.

BIG, Mrs grizz and I love Zion, NP and it is one of our favorite parks . Our favorite is however still Glacier. I don't like having to pay oversize fee for going through the tunnel just because my truck is a dually and that was without the 5th wheel. We always leave the 5th wheel at Mount Carmel RV Park, which is between Zion, NP and Bryce Canyon, NP so that we can visit both parks.
