Guys,

I pull a 5. 5 ton fifth wheel. My bed naturally goes down a number of inches under load. Tis really changes the alignment of my headlamps. I don't want to change shocks or add airbags as the trailer is just about level as it sits now. If I restored the truck to its original level while under load, my fifth wheel would certainly be down in back.

Is there an easy way to adjust the headlamp verticle alignment. I guess I could turn the screw a set number of times and then reverse when not under load. Will that work? Are the screws precision enough that it will restore to original settings?

thanks,

Headlight adjustment on our trucks is pretty crude. Both the screws and housings are plastic. Method I've usrd on mine is to carry a 12" metal ruler, that I marked with both settings, then adjusted to suit load.

Craig - - I just stick the ruler in flat under the head light and hold it against the housing, then turn the bottom adjusting screw in or out as needed. You are working in 32,s" of an inch, about two full turns of thew screw. Did the origional set up using the back wall of the garage, and got my base settings.

Good luck, Denny
