Headlight out is it the FCM?

It started a while back I lost the Pass headlight did what anybody would do. Change the headlight didnt fix it 2 days later its working? What the Hell? OK all is good nope now the left one is out. Ive unhooked the batterys then I had both headlights again. Well now I have no Driverside headlight high/low even unhooking the battery. Any ideas? Can you test the FCM? Thanks Randy

Unplug the FCM and clean the pins and receptacle . Slightly twist the pins for a more secure connection. Good luck.

The 06 uses a tipm not an fcm so it is all one piece
With a scanner you can see if the inputs are good. Using a dvom you can verify the outputs with access to the wiring diagrams

Thanks guys sounds like a trip to the dealer. I should have known as Ive had the TIPM replaced before.

I have read in several cases where the TIPM can be reflashed to fix problems like this. I would be sure to ask your dealer about this option instead of replacement.

What was I thinking? Your right, don't ask the dealer about ref lashing as an option. Just jump straight to having tipm changed. That is what the dealer will say anyhow... .

Before you run to the stealership, check the bulb sockets. The pins on the bulbs are tiny and sometimes an arcing occurs with vibration and poor connection in the socket. I had the passenger side low stop working and changed out the bulb, still inop at that point. Looked at the socket and found the center connector burnt a little from electrical current arcing. It was the ground wire connector if I remember correctly. I replaced both side with ceramic soldered bulb sockets which seem to fit a hell of a lot tighter to the bulb pin connectors. When I replaced the driver's side unit, it too showed signs of arcing, just hadn't lost connection yet. I also spiced in independent grounds, to facilitate a better current flow. Been fixed for about 2 years now and so far, so good. The repair was cheap to fix and saved big $$$ to boot.

The purpose of replying is to try and give an accurate solution... ... ... ... ... .....
The flash for the tipm is to increase amperage for the trailer lighting circuits,it has nothing to do with the headlamp circuits(the op's issue)
