Headlight problem

I'm trying to figure out a headlight problem. Mostly when the truck is cold my headlights will go out then come back on if I switch to highbeam it does the same thing. Seems to only do it until the truck is warm. I have a new headlight switch to install but I don't know if it's the switch. If I move the switch on or off and or wiggle it it doesn't seem to change. I guess I'll be chasing this threw the harness. One thing about these trucks when they get old I guess.

If it only dims when cold, take a gander at your volt gauge- does it dip 2-3 volts when the lights dim? If s, that is normal; the grid heaters are pulling mucho amps and juice.



Most other problems are related to the switch.

No it's not the grids. The head lights go out completely then come back on. Kind of flicker on and off

Switch or wiring to it, then. The connectors get burnt when the switch gets too hot too long.

Make sure all the grounds have good connections. . clean, etc.
