Fan Clutch Removal

I saw a few days back someone had a question about removing the headlights. I plan on putting in my sport lights today, but I cant find the post.

On top of this, the server keeps coming up "too busy" #@$%!

Is there any special tools, or procedures that I should prepare for? I know I have to cut, I have a 98. I just remember something about clips, and scratching the bumper... ...

TIA

Eric

Eric,

I did the sport headlight replacement a few weeks ago. The only "special" tool you would need is a Sawzall, makes the cuts faster. There is a grounding lug on the drivers side behind the light you can't miss it. Don't cut this out. I unhooked the wires and moved them out of the way so I would not cut them. I am sorry I don't remember how far down I cut. I will go out to the truck in a few minutes and check. If you want, try this thread it may help.

If not you can email me at -- email address removed --

I will give you all the help I can.

Jeff

p. s. You may not have to take off the bumper like I did. When I t-boned an Escort the shop put the bumper too high towards the grille.

p. p. s. The cut is 3/4" from bottom of lug.

p. p. p. s here is another thread

Thanks Jeff. I did them today. It wasnt to big a deal, I just like to get all of my ducks in a line before starting the job. I dont like suprises. :D

Now I have to make up a harness to use the outer bulbs. I wont pay the $165. 00 for the brite box. :--) That's outrageous!!
