Going to work today I smelled wires burning, so I stopped and looked around. I picked up a strong smell around the head light switch. I turned the head lights off and drove with just foglights. I thought I can't do this, I'm going to get a ticket. I turned the head lights back on and within a few minutes smelled wires burning again. About 1/2 hour later I noticed the lights around the head light switch was out.
I looked around the TDR web site and found some information on a recall number #819. My truck is a 1995 Dodge 2500 diesel. I called a few dealers and got the run around, they didn't know anything about the recall #819. I found this part number #CAJM8190 with a relay switch and the cost, from the TDR web site. After setting for 13 hours I checked it again and only had high and low beam headlights. The marker lights and interior lights were out.
Will this part help the problem, or is there something else I should try?
Thanks. David
