On a '99 truck, does anyone know the color of the wire for the low beam headlight switch? I'm adding aftermarket lights and want to tap into that wire to power them.

~thanks

i don't know if 99's have the same headlight system as 2001's, but if they do its a ground switching system, This means the lights constantly have 12volts applied to them, activating the ground turns on the lamp, and i believe the low power wire on the headlight for a 2001 is purple, it will be the on exactly opposite of the red wire (high beam) not the middle wire. .

Yes the low beam wire at the head lamp is an 18 gauge violet wire. I would strongly recomend using a relay to power your aux. lamps, the origional headlamp switch will not like the additional load.
