when I first start my truck the headlights will flicker and sometimes the voltmeter will pulse a little. I noticed that my passenger side positive battery terminal was a little loose and had some leakage from the battery. so I cleaned it and sprayed a protective sealant on it and tightened the terminal. The headlights stopped flickering but it came back a week later. I again checked the terminal and it was still clean and tight . any suggestions?also if I WEREto replace the batteries what batteries do you all suggest?

If the temp is below 50° the intake heaters will cycle on and off causing the lights to dim and the voltmeter to drop. This is normal. The heaters will stop cycling after a maximum of three minutes or until you reach 16 mph. Keeping your batteries clean is a good thing but I think that the week that you had no problem it was probably just over 50°.

I like Optima Redtop batteries, with the totally sealed gel cell design there is no corrosion, that's worth a lot in my book. The warranty on them is also very good.

Hey bud, check the negative terminals also, just as important. Also, do a load check on the batteries seperated. Hope this helps. Tim
