i had them on driving to work in the dark yesterday... got back in the truck to go to the parts house an hour later, and i've only got parking lights. i checked the fuse in the engine compartment panel, and it's fine. . is there another fuse/relay/something i don't know about? could it be the switch itself? i've never been much for doing electrical diagnoses (and i don't want to take the dashboard apart).

Open the driver's door. There is a little door in the side of the dash. Pull it open. The fuses are there.

Cycle the dimmer switch. Sometimes they are a little out of adjustment. Mine has been since new, haven't gotten around to fixing it.

Check power control box fender well under hood drivers side look at cover for information inside cover look for relay black cube if no spare swap for one you do not need or to temp try head lights sand replace and then buy one at stealer or auto store. Ron in Louisville Metro KY:confused: :D

Have you had the recall for the headlight switch done? if not it's pretty easy to pull the switch out and check to see if it has cought fire or just melted. It happened to mine about 6 months ago.

There is no headlight fuse. They use a circuit breaker built into the headlamp switch.

It is most likely a bad switch, very common. Recall covered 3500's,but they might cover yours if you b*tch loud enough. If not, just get the recall kit on your own and replace the switch and connector,it will probably be melted.

well, to tell you the truth...

i guess both bulbs burnt out virtually at the same time. they were both on in the morning, but after lots of grumbling and bumping around i decided to take the bulbs out and check. sure enough, both were toast. very weird. . now i'm watching my dash for spikes in voltage...
