I was driving home tonight with the headlights(lowbeam) and foglights on, hit the highbeam switch, and lost my headlights. They worked if I held the switch back, and the foglights and marker lights worked fine. I turned the headlights off, drove home with the foglights and highbeams occasionally, only five mins from home. I played with the lights in the driveway for a couple mins, switching lights off and on, and between highbeam and lowbeam, and they started working again. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen, and what I could do to fix it. Is there a load or heat sensitive fuse for the headlights, could it be the headlight switch, or the multifunction switch?

I have had brake light problems before, that I fixed(?) by removing and re-installing the multifunction switch, it tested ok with the multimeter so I put it back. Should I just get a new one?

Any comments would be greatly appreaciated.

Sounds like the headlamp switch. My 97 used to eat them about every 3 months. I added relays for the park lamps, and the headlamps and almost 4 years,200000 on the latest switch. I believe Dodge has an overlay harness available which will do the same thing. The headlamp relays will also make your headlamps a bit brighter as well.

I lost mine in the fog one night, stopped right there on the road with hazards on of coarse and fiddled with the switch till i got frustrated and punched the dash, haven't had a problem since;) took it to the dealer and they didnt find anything so i guess i fixed it lol
