Don't waste anymore money on those stupid bulbs. H. I. D. is the only way to get more light but they are still in the $500 price range. The best bang for the buck is to swap out your whole headlight to the quad bulb sport headlights. Cost in the range of $120 but you will see a huge improvement over the old headlights.

I bought the Piaa super whites and that ended up being the biggest waste of money... . $85 a pair and I needed four of them. Anyways one went out so I thought I would try the new Silverstars and they are brighter than the Piaa's and half the dough. Still they are not worth the money if you ask me. Save up and get the sport headlights... . you won't be dissapointed. :)

The sport headlight conversion will cost you a bit more than $120. The capsule, marker, and bracket will set you back around $220 for the pair. You will have a few more dollars in relays and wiring to get the lights to work properly. It seems to be well worth the money.

Sorry, should have clarified that they were $120 EACH. Just a bit of difference.

Go for the sport light's!

SUVlights.com has pre made wiring harness' they simply plug right in as well as provide relay's to get max power from the batteries.

simply unbelivable.

SFB,

Do they have a harness that will power all 4 sport light bulbs? So all you have to do is plug is in to the old harness, the new bulbs, and supply power and that's it?

Thanks,

Jin at SUV light's can make the light's turn on in just about any configuration imaginable.

Mine are set up like this

all 4 low beams on during low beam

all 4 high beams on during high beam

the harness' plug into your existing light socket.

they get power directly from each battery (2 separate harness' required).

the light output is unbelievable.

Consumer reports did a test recently on HID versus standard Halogen. They tested the lights as delivered from the manufacturer. This included Mercedes, LandRover and others. The cheapest car in the group with Halogen lights outshined all others including the HID equipped vehicles. The winner was some lowend Mazda.

The inner reflector is NOT designed to be used as a low beam. The light will be shining in oncoming traffic's eyes. That being said... . SFB, how much was your harness. :)

I did a slight variation on San Felipe Bob's set up. The low beam filament on the 9004 bulbs, which is normally not used in the standard setup, is on a separate relay and switch. So those can be used as sort of an 'in between' setting between standard low beam (9007 only) and high beam (both 9007 and 9004 filaments lit on mine).

Chipstien,

Actually you are correct about the reflector.

However, I did a test before wiring both together.

I compared the low beam inner to the low beam outer light.

The inner light was just a tad higher, and since it's only 45 watts it just fills in the low beam in the center. (and is well under the 55 watt limit. )

The filaments in the bulbs are located in a way that makes them lower on low and higher on high. They also move slightly to the left on high.

My truck is lifted 2" so the light's are a little high at the stock adjustment.

I adjusted my lights slightly lower and with the extra inner low beams it makes a great pattern.

I'm sure my light's are not offensive to other drivers because I've only had the high beams flashed once. (in 6 months)

High beams   ? Well I get flashed way before the other cars lightsare even close to blinding me.

As far as the cost for the harness'?

You will have to check out the SUVLights.com site

I think they are about 35. 00 each including 2 HD Bosch relay's.

Very clean harness'.

I have a couple of the harnesses from SUVlights (made for sport truck to turn on all 4 lows, all 4 highs) and it does not work..... Yet. I think we have the problem figured out and once I get the time to hook it back up and test it I think it will be okay. The harnesses (one for each side is better on a two battery system) where around $130 bucks total. They are very nicely made with dual bosch relays and wireloom etc.

As for bulbs, look at the silverstars from sylvania... very nice.
