Heads up with BADP

A few months back I ordered a 5"stainless code free exhaust, from BADP. Orderd the stainless, did not want any rust, after spending 1500. 00 for this exhaust. After installing, had lots of smoke from exhaust, and throwing several codes. BADP returned all my calls, and sent out a new Module,this stopped the smoke , codes never went away. In the mean time this exhaust started rusting real bad, called BADP, was told to send pictures. Pictures were emailed, no contact from BADP. Been a TDR member for years, never had any trouble with any company. Its been several months now, BADP have never even returned my calls,on the rust , even the tech. Dept. that was taking care of the Module stopped returning my calls. Has anyone else had any bad deals with this company?

I know nothing about BADP and will not criticize the company.

In general, small companies like this generally don't have the engineering or financial resources to properly test their products to meet federal and state standards or to stand behind them when and if mistakes are made.

Their warranty, if they offer one, is only as good as their bank account which is probably pretty slim as a small start-up company.

When you consider the fact that the company is making and shipping products that, if used on highway driven trucks, which I think we can reasonably guess 99% are, violate federal laws and the laws of every state, I would guess that the company is operating on thin ice. How long will it be before some gestapo arm of the federal or state government becomes aware of them and descends upon them with a van full of enforcement officials and government lawyers?

I bought mine from BADP ... they shipped it right away... . however the pipe had an option part to be used with a quad cab ..... (the kit was a universal kit ,you just used the piece if you needed it), The one piece was not stainless and the hanger was welded on the wrong end. No problem on the hanger, however if their justification on the price being 1500. 00 because it is all stainless ... . then I want the dam piece to be stainless also. I called them and advised them of the mistake and they said they did not have a stainless piece to send me. I'd rather have the honesty disappoint me than a bunch of excuses and deception. I can deal with disappointment it's a part of life. Would I buy from BADP again??? If they send me my piece of stainless or give me a credit, YES I probably would. However you make your own decisions and live with them.

Grasmo:. That was one more thing I had with this compay, I have the 08 quad cab. only have part stainless for 1600, and now RUST. Do have any rust?

I haven't even checked..... I'm just so happy to have my new truck running right ... . just lemoned a 07. 5 w/6. 7.....

The company split up. The original people are still going in the same building just under a new name, which I can't think of .


Something didn't smell right to me when they were charging customers cards before they were finished developing the product they pre-sold. Seemed like the classic, too big, too fast business failure to me. It sounds like the original couple are nice people that just got caught up trying to corner a market before they were ready. Was glad to see they survived the whole ordeal and are still running a shop.

Well then I made the right choice and pulled the 2nd gen and went to the Smarty!
