Just came home with a 2002 3500 two wheel drive. Ho with 6 speed . 90 gallon bed tank and Reese 5th wheel. It is SLT. Laramie pack. Where to start. Give me some thoughts . I have spent 10 years with a 93 4/4 3/4 ton. in for sale adds. This is starting all over. Main objective is towing a 14,000lb trailer and run with traffic and eat power smokes and diesel chubbys.

Harlan:rolleyes:

Need Mo [power, power]

New truck

Just got off the phone with Piers. What power level will an EZ give me.

Main thing, will I have to do anything to the truck. It has over loads and sway bars. The trailer will way in about 14,000lb. loaded. It is a 34' 5er.

Thanks Harlan:rolleyes:

guages, comp, ddIII's, BHAF, 4", 400+ SBC, exhaust brake.

That is: monitor, power UP, power to ground, and slow me down.

That artta take care of it!:cool:

Give us a $ limit and we'll fix you right up. The EZ suggestions are the most economical. My suggestion is over $3000.

we went with the injectors vs the chip in all of our dodges, the powerstrokes all have chips. we pull about 15000 with all of our trucks and the injectors on the dodges have proven to be enough to keep us at speed, even thru steep grades, the chips on the fords seem to have a mind of their own , suddenly idling up while sitting, then shutting the whole truck down , then no restart for about five minutes. the injector kits and power chips all come from a well known outfit, and i feel that all of the electronic and computer guided stuff on the fords can be blamed more than the chip itself. but the future of the ctd is getting closer and closer to psd and duramaxes. as a steady hauler, injectors, gauges, ex brake, air mods... . simple, inexpensive, and i'll pull a hill with anyone out there.

Power

From what I can find out the comp has a higher power out put and you can control it from inside the truck. The EZ has three power settings but they must be set at the box under the hood with jumpers. Let me know if I am wrong for I have not Sean ether one up to now.

Harlan:rolleyes:

Harlan;

The settings for the EZ just control when the extra fueling comes on relative to the boost pressure. I think this may adjust responsiveness and allow some adjustment for smoke. The net power is the same on all three settings. I went with the Comp for about $100 more. That way you can turn it on and off (yeah right :p ) from inside the cab. You can also adjust for more or less power. For the $100 I can't see not getting it. I don't have the injection pump wire hooked up yet so mine acts just like an EZ for now. I will "hook the wire" as soon as I get guages installed. I was really impressed with the extra power for a long time, but now I want a little more and am glad I have that option.

Dave.

I guess money isn't an object. I therefore recommend an HX-40 turbo as well.

And look up Joe Donnely-he's out in your neck of the woods and knows plenty about powering up CTD. I think he was up to 633HP last dyno run. :D
