Bermuda Grass OUT OF CONTROL!!!

When I had my last annual physical, the Doc suggested I have a heart cat scan done because of my elevated cholesterol levels and family history of heart disease. Anyhow, had it done, and found out I have calcified plaque in the lower anterior descending artery. Keep in mind, I am only 42, don't smoke, skinny as a rail:-laf. Basically, if I don't change eating habits, more exercise, etc. , it would be like a 24 valve Cummins having the injector pump go south:-laf Doc said it's good this was caught or it would be a matter of time when I would have a heart attack. I think if I were to eat really greasy food now, I would be sitting on the throne for about 3 days:-laf Maybe I should start drinking Power Service so things don't gel up in the arteries?:-laf;)

Anyone have heart disease also?

Sorry to hear about that Paul! I hope you can change your eating habits. I've tried a couple times just because I should really eat more healthy, not because I need to. I just can't seem to do it!

I've had an occasional irregular heartbeat since I was twenty (for 52 years). I had my annual physical this week with a new doctor. When I informed her about it and that it seemed to be normal for me and never caused any problem she mulled that over, then sent me to a cardiologist. I'm now wearing a thirty-day "King of Hearts" monitor that I'm supposed to activate if my heart goes into one of those modes (it records an ECG to be downloaded by telephone). Doc says such activity could cause a stroke and she wants to be sure I'm OK. I'm in my third day and have had no irregular heart action, although I did set the device off twice by mistake.

Got an angioplasty & stent back in 2001- 98% blockage. Now on 80mg Lipitor & 1 aspirin a day- so far everything OK. Still can't play the piano, though. :-(

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy w/obstruction - basically my heart muscle is too thick due to cellular abnormalities so it isn't flexible enough and the chambers are too small. No family history - I'm just lucky.

Thanks for the responses. Hope you guys are doing OK! I am on Vytorin and one 81mg Aspirin/day. My nice wife packed food for Mopar Nationals so I can hopefully try to avoid the grease:rolleyes:
