The temperature control knob on the 3rd gens has detents. Unfortunately one detent is too hot and the next one is too cool. Is it possible to put a resistor in that wire to get a temperature between the two detents? How about a variable resistor? Any other ideas that would work? I get tired of flipping between the two settings or being too cool or too warm while driving 11 hours a day.

Godspeed,

Not sure if it is the same problem, but I noticed mine does something similar, though not on settings right next to each other. I've found that by turning the knob all the way to either hot or cold and letting it get to temperature for a couple seconds, then setting it somewhere in the middle it gets me the temperature I am looking for. There seems to be a problem incrementing the temperature one notch at a time.
