My a/c didn't work about a month ago, first time I tried it. Turned out to be low on refrigerant.

I charged it back up and it was working ok for about 2 weeks.

A couple times I've had the volume of air drastically reduced coming from the vents, although the blower motor was going well. Seemed to fix itself.

This past weekend I could barely get any cold air out of the system.

Today, very hot, and blows hot air only. I can hear the a/c comp kick on, but just hot air.

I'm lost, and getting sick of this truck and it's problems. Any suggestions on the fix?

More info:

Took off the center dash. Played with the temp control and could hear the motor moving. actually I could see the temp door motor moving through a hole in the dash. I can see it bottom out on both ends. There is definetally a difference between heat and cold as far a temp goes. I think maybe my truck is low on refrigerant again but has just enough for the compressor to stay on.

Too bad I'm in Wisconsin where it is illegal to buy, where in Michigan I can get it at Walmart.

When you get the chance, remove the blower motor and check the blend door (the door that changes between fresh air and recirculated air). It is directly above the blower motor inside the housing. Mine had broken off and fallen directly over the blower opening therefore reducing the amount of air that the blower could take in. I was able to just pull it out for the time being while I wait on parts to be delivered to fix it.

That probably won't help the hot air issue but it might help the volume of air issue.
