I am considering wrapping my exhaust manifold in heat wrap and when I get a stainless exhaust, the down pipe.

Most of the threads I've searched through are several years old and I was wondering if any one else has done this or what results you've seen? Is it worth it? If so, what is the best place to get the wrap from?

Thanks. :)

Don't do it!

Wraping the exhaust heat soaks the metal to much and over time it will become brittle and crack. If you wrap Your Turbo it will wear much faster without the ability to disapate the heat. I Just finished welding up the pipes on a co-workers Harley yesterday because his pipes were wrapped and cracked completely in half

I know you see it on race vehicles and it does help speed the exhaust flow but those vehicles have short lifespans on parts and the owners accept the risk for a competetive edge.
