When I hit the switch for the heat option for my seat, the "LO" flashes. ( needing service) Are there any known issues with these seats (broke wire, bad switches, poor connections, ect) that I should mabey look at first?

Yes most likely where the wires enter the leather seat. I removed my seat and where the main wire is soldered to the heating element is where mine broke. I just resoldered and put the seat back together and it works fine!

Mine did the same thing. I searched the database here and foud alot of threads stating that the small wires in the seat or back have a tendency to break. The heaters are stiched right into the leather, so DC wants $1500. 00 for replacements! I followed the advice of several other members and took the leather off the seat, traced the wires into the foam, tested them all with a multimeter, found the broken one and soldered it. The seat heater is good as new now! I was a little hesitant about taking the leather off the seat at first, but it was actually really easy. I would suggest taking the entire seat base out to do the work as it's a hell of alot easier then doing it in the truck. Also, make sure you run the wires back in their grooves under the leather, if not you'll be feeling them, and it's not comfortable, and then you'll have to take them apart again!
