Well, my heated mirrors aren't working. I checked all my fuses and can't find one that says Heated Mirrors and can't find a burned fuse. I'm thinking a relay, but no luck in finding one:rolleyes: . I push in the switch and the indicator light DOES come on, but, no heat at the mirrors. :( . Does anyone know if there is a relay and if so where, and would this be the problem. The light under the hood doesn't work anymore either, so, I wonder if they may be on the same circuit? . . . just a thought.

:( That's what I was afraid of. Sounds like it will cost more to fix it than the price of the original option cost of the mirrors to begin with.

Since I was tearing my dash apart anyways. . . I checked power into the Heated mirror switch and it was there. , One wire is a ground I assume since there is no place else for the little circuit board to be grounded, and the third wire would have to be power out. That third wire is cold (switch off) and hot (switch on). The three wires are only 20 or 22ga (I can't remember now) and way to small to run the demands of the heated mirrors. They have to be operating another relay somewhere. I can't figure out what or where. The book mentions another fuse in a Junction Block, yet I can't find one listed in the fuse blocks, nor can I find one in the wiring diagrams. The odds of both heater grids being bad are very slim and can go out individually and the other would still work. Ther is a fuse or relay somehwere in that darn truck and I cannot locate it#@$%! The relay at the switch/timer/relay location is tiny, and appears to work just fine.

Any help???

Thanks. Dennis

Like jmeehan said, the only relay is part of the switch. According to the manual, you have either a bad switch/relay/mirror control,(not serviceable, and is one unit) or a short after the switch. The manual also states to check the fuses in the PDC and junction block, but makes no reference on which particular ones... figures. Good luck.

Have you checked for power at the mirror itself? I agree that it's unlikely that both mirror grids went out at the same time, but you never know.

You coulds always build a switch/relay assembly to splice in and replace the factory unit.

On my 93 Grand Caravan the Heated Mirrors were operated from the same switch as the rear window defroster. At the time I looked through the entire owners manual and could not find a single mention of heated mirrors or how to activate them ( if they had not been listed on the window sticker I would not have known they existed).

My drivers side went out earlier this winter too so I guess a trip to the ******* is in my future. At about the same time my power mirror joystick started to go out.

Might try and get lucky at the salvage yard.

For the standard power mirrors, they recently made the glass available as a separate replacement part. you don't have to replace the whole mirror anymore.
