Heated Mirrors

What vehicle function activates heated mirrors? My passenger side mirror doesn't seem to heat up. Drivers side heats up and clears. Wondering where to begin diagnostics. 2014 Ram 3500 Laramie.

For a system that could be simple they are not.Many modules are involved.This makes a scanner the best way to begin diag.You can remove the mirror glass to test for power to the heater.

That is what I figured, nothing is simple anymore. easier just to hit the passenger mirror with the scraper while I'm scraping the windshield. Thanks for your reply Bob.

Just noticed you live in La Pine,my dad lived out in the boonies by Redman.Very cold in the winter

The defrost button activates the heated mirrors....

Yes, Living in Oregon's high desert country it gets very cold in winter, good working mirror heaters are a must. Thank you Flash, Upon checking with the defrost on it seems to be working. Problem solved...
