2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Heated seat problem!

This one for you guys that have the laramie package. My drivers side heater switch is on the fritz, when i press it, it only flashes at me and does not stay on or heat my seat Has anyone had this problem or know what it could be?

The heat element in the seat is bad, the switch flashes to tell you its shorted I believe, had the problem on my 01, changed heat elements all was well... ... ..... Pete

Have your dealer check for TSB's on heated seats. I seem to recall that they now have repair kits so you don't have to replace the element or cushion.

When did they start the heated seat option? My 99 doesn't seem to have it. Can it be retrofitted? How many out there with the 6 way adjustable have lost the rear up/down motor, no pun intended. Every Ram owner hauler I run in to has lost this motor. Any rebuilders out there interested in trying to rebuild them? Dealer wants half grand for the whole assembly. Absurd.

Not had any problems with the seat positioning motors. Would also be interested in retrofitting seat heaters.

Hey, check the connector at the base of the seat, mounting bracket. My '01 did this twice after purchase, wife took in to dealer, after the second time I did investigation myself, the connector catches on the base frame and will separate the contacts inside the plastic, showing up by a blinking light on switch. There is not enough wire IMOP, I used a large piece of shrink wrap (w/o heating) as a jacket and taped the sharp edges of connector, so far so good.
