I have a 2002 w/ heated seats and the other day my wife went to turn hers on and the light on the dash next to the button was blinking. The manual says it needs to be brought in for service...

Has anyone else had this problem? What was the fix? Thanks.

I'll assume you're talking about the driver's side seat:) From the model year 2002 FSM:

I have had this problem 5 times with my seats. Twice the seat cushion had to be replaced under warranty. Thank goodness it would have been $800 each time. The last 3 times the connection is bad on the passenger side on my truck. It is also close to the rail and has been unplugged by moving the seat forward. I would address the connection make sure it is making contact before I take it to the dealer. If it is indeed a short it is very expensive. Both front seats went out on my truck within the first two years I owned it. Each time it was $800, however it was covered under warranty. Good luck to you, I hope it is just your connection.

Yikes! For $800. 00 I can do with out a passanger heater! My seat still works.

Thanks for the info, I will check the connection under the seat first.

Hopefully thats all that it needs.

I would buy the factory service manual for your truck. With that in hand, you should be able to fix the problem without spending your life savings ;)

Any of you want to help me figure out how to wire up and get working my heated seats I bought out of a junker? Have had them over a year, and still havent hooked them up. My truck didnt have leather or heated seats, so the wiring is not there.
