Heater Core Leak

Hi,I have a 2012 3500,just wanting to know is there any other tail-tell signs the heater core might be leaking other than coolant level.This morning had smoke (steam) coming out from under hood on the right side,and some in the cab,stopped twice to look for signs of coolant leak or smoke saw nothing.Thx for any comments. Terry

Doubt it is heater core. Normally that would show up inside the cab. More likely is the riser tube or water pump.
