Having the heater core replaced Friday, should I have the evaporator coil done at the same time while they have the dash torn apart??? Truck is my daily driver - 8 yrs old 255K??

Thanks,

Don

Think about it - especially if your evaporator is gunked up like mine was. The A/C core is where the leave mold and dirt stops - not the heater core which is later in the airflow. Mine sprung a refrigerant leak somewhere under the crap and it took me weeks to find out. Since everything is already opened…

Change it, Now!!! Best "Might-as-well" you going to have!! My Evap failed, in dought due to leaves, mold and stuff. Moose

Agreed, I had the evap fail on my 94 1500ram with 50k, it was only 5 years old.

Do it since you need to take it out anyway...

It would be a good idea to change it out since the dash will be out already. There a lot of failures with the evaporator or so I have read and heard about. You could have them check it out (clean it up check for leaks).
