Love my Cummins. Having very negative feelings about Dodge engineers. The heatercore is leaking on my 93 D350. Everything has to come out of the dash. Everything!!! Steering column, glove box, dash, break down the AC. What dim witted, puke brain, did the engineering on that one.

Hey, I feel better now. Hope you guys don't have to deal with that on your truck.

It can be taken out with out taking everything completely apart if you have a warm work area. I was able to get the compartment that the core is in pryed out from under the dash but it was a major job and would probalby be easier to do it the right way but I was figuring it out as I went because I didn't have a manual for my 93. Either way I wish you the best of luck because it is not a fun job.

James, everything except the steering column. I ended up removing the steering wheel, just to have a little more room climbing in and out of the truck- no tilt on the 89. If your AC works, you might want to replace the AC evaporator core while your in there. Not a cheap item though, paid about $140 from Napa. After you do this job once, its an easy one. Just a matter of removing everything, and putting it back. Heater core from Napa was about $40. It was alot thicker than the oem heater core, but you might have to modify the heater assembly box, to get the two tubes to fit through the holes in it. Super fine heat from the napa core. Bill
