Hi. Just another problem with my truck.

Tonight is cold and for the first 15 miles my heater fan wouldn't come on at any levels. Also the "Recirculate" button just blinks when I tried it. While this happened, I couldn't set to controls from floor heat to defrost. So I drove cold inside without defrost. I got home pushed the "Recirculate" button again testing around and the fan came on and the "Recirculate" light worked. The heater doors moved also to whatever I set it to. I had quickly a toasty truck!

Any ideas what is going on? Does the engine need to be warm first before the heater works? Thanks again! Herb:confused:

I would say the button failed intermittently.
I don't think the engine needs to be warm first before the heater works.

Blinking lights on most of the smaller modules (HVAC, Heated Seats, Transfer Case) generally indicate a fault. Unfortunately generic scan tools will not read the faults.

Turned out to be a poor connection with the wiring plug on my heater fan plug. I moved it and everything started working. Evidently the whole fan control feeds through the fan motor. Has worked fine ever since. I had removed the fan trying to see the AC evaporator and maybe dye leaks.
