This is just a heads up for anybody that went through the water pump recall... I let dealer do mine after I got truck back, we had some cold temps hit the area, and after a few days, I had little to no heat, plenty of air, and would come out of whatever vents I told it too, but lukewarm... so I took it back to the dealer, they tell me the heater core has to be replaced. $2100. I complained to them that my truck was fine when it came in, and now I have a heater core plugged. they say it must have been that way when it came in. BS.
So long story short, I removed the 2 heater hoses, and pulse flushed it with the gun, and you wouldn't believe what came out, all kinds of silicone, like rtv, I keep doing this back and forth between the 2 hoses for about 30 minutes, and now I have heat they will melt your dog tags, so just a friendly help tip

I did mine about 2 weeks ago. I didn't catch what came out of mine but I wished I had. I'm wondering could it be from someone mixing the wrong coolant?

O ring sealed... Didn’t you see the TSB that says you must use RVT silicon with it. Shop grease monkeys have to use it on everything today. We wiped out a crank on a 3306 CAT genset because a monkey used RVT on NBC a gasket. The silicon broke off after 145 hours and plugged up an oil passage to one of the crank main bearings. So much for that overhaul.

Well, I can't prove that is where it came from, but I would bet my money that is exactly what happened, all I know is if anyone had the recall done, and has lost heat in their truck, then this is what I did, and I'm back to good again, and heck with the dealer, not very often anything comes from a dealer. most have morons working for them, no more certified techs anymore, just thugs think they know something. ok, that's my rant.

Your Rant is not off base. It’s not just at the dealer it’s everywhere. We can’t find good Tec’s. Kids today don’t want to be bothered. They don’t want to invest their time or get their hands dirty. Good people are very hard to find.
