Took a test drive of a '07 C&C with the 6. 7 and manual transmission today. I'm not conviced that there's enough of an upgrade to warrant the extra $40,000 I would have to pay (they wanted CAD$69,000 for a full loaded unit they had enroute - The one I drove was a single cab SLT at CAD$49,000) compared to my '03, but there was one thing that did impress me...

The clutch was very easy to depress. On my '03, it's extremely hard compared to any vehicle I've ever owned. The '07 appears to be similar in design, in that there's no evidence of a booster on the clutch master, but it's performance is much improved. So I guess my question is in three parts...

Is my heavy and hard to press clutch on my '03 normal?

Why is the '07 clutch so much easier to depress?

Is there some upgrade I can bodge together for my '03?

I believe you are feeling the difference between the nv5600 and the new g56 those clutches are very easy to depress. it just feels like you pushing air to the floor. but if your nv5600 is hard to depress then i would suggest the new hydraulics to try and help out with that.

the pedal on my nv5600 is very light. . i drove an old beater ford service truck a while back that i think had a mechanical linkage, and it was a stiff pedal [when actually used ] i hopped in my truck after my shift and i had trouble driving home [well, the first dozen shifts], as the pedal effort was so much less than in that ford. .

I'm a little confused here. Are you saying that the NV5600 is harder to depress then the G56? My 05 has the NV5600 and it is very easy to depress.
