Any hotshotters out there?

reciever hitch

Hey Guys:

I just bought a 9 ton tandem dual axle Trail King trailer, which is a pintle hitch. The next truck I'm going to buy in a few months will be a one ton dually, but all I see for towing is the class 4 and 5 frame type hitch receivers with the 2" opening. They are rated for less than 10,000#. I tow farm equipment and the trailer weigh's 6000# empty. Are their any better pintle hitch setups for a pickup that will tow ~30,000#?

Thanks,

John

Bringin this one back to the top. Come on guys, there has to be more options than this for us towing a pintle hitch trailer with a pickup. Isn't there any special frame pintle hitch specifically for heavy hauling?

personally... i would switch that to a 2 5/16 ball mount receiver... pintle hitches are fine on dump trucks and such but they take their toll on things... . there is slack there so everytime u stop and go the trailer slides back and forth inside the "eye" and causes braking problems and added wear and tear on your truck... personally a gooseneck would be my choice but there is probably a reason that you bought the trailer... . just stop at a trailer dealership ... they should have something... or search online

www.younger-bros.com makes a bumper for our truck with a pintle hitch but you might have a hard time getting them to sell it you. They have it listed as for governemnt agencies only but might be worth a try. Looks like an awesome rear bumper.
