Has there been any luck in locating a Heavy Duty Radiator yet? I've seen some lengthy posts , but don't recall a final solution or fix. I did speak with a Griffin rep

in SC last week that said they could build whatever I want but need to pull and send mine to them 1st.

Thought I would check with you guys first before I move forward with a replacement plan.

maybe it's just my CDT noob-ness showing through... but the stock radiator is freakin' huge... and cheap, too... bought a brand new one from the local radiator shop for under $300 (compared to $500 for our classic Volvo's radiator, which is less than 1/2 the size... )

I'd like to find a radiator with a little more coolant capacity. It gets kind of warm here, y'see.

I just put in an aluminum radiator in my 98. Only about half as thick as the original copper radiator, but it cools better. I'm in Mesa, so maybe that will make you feel better about it.

I have been searching for a all aluminum drop in replacement radiator for years for my truck and as of yet have not found one. I would love to rid myself of the plastic tanks on the ends..... Andy

I don't have any quarrel with aluminum radiators and plastic tanks. If they are well-made and big enough, they have done OK for me. Back when I towed with full size Jeeps (FSJs), I had radiators specially made. (These were for a 1976 Cherokee and a 1983 Wagoneer, both with AMC 360 V8s. ) I was able to locate a local radiator shop--Oscar's Deluxe Radiator--that would custom build me radiators for these FSJs. He used four rows of tubes, and only a very few fins. Too many fins cut air flow on a 4 row core, and actually caused overheating.

When I first met Oscar, we were talking radiators when a parts truck (it was a VW Rabbit pickup, BTW) drove in from a Phoenix or Scottsdale high-end European car dealer. The driver handed Oscar a radiator, and asked when it would be ready. I forget the time frame, but it was agreeable, and the parts truck drove off. I glanced at the radiator, only to see that it had a double letter R embossed in it. I decided that Oscar would do good work, and he most certainly did. I think he's gone now. Not many real radiators left.

A couple weeks ago I picked up a 40 ft toyhauler in Southern Cal when it was 110:eek: I used my A/C until I got to the bottom of the Grapevine where it was only 102. I turned the A/C off, opened the windows and climbed over the hill (mostly in 3rd gear), top temp was about 200, maybe 210, but never out of the white arc. 5 years and 400k miles ago it wouldn't have got that hot, so I'm sure there is some internal deposits. Eventually I'll have to replace the original radiator, and when I do it will be a Dodge OEM. I'm thinking your 95 may be in the same shape.
