Well this past week end I got to use the truck for the original reason I got it finally, to pull 2 trucks at a time to off-road events.

The trailer is a 40’ tandem dually rated for 24,000#. Truck 1 is a 1975 R/C and number 2 is a 1983 W350.

I took it to the scale just to see how much weight was their, I knew I would be over the 23,000# rating before I even started all this but figured the Dodge could handle it.

Front Axle = 4,720lb (5,200lb rated)

Rear Axle = 7,140lb (9,350lb rated)

Total truck = 11,860lb (12,000lb rated)

Trailer axle = 18,120lb (24,000lb rated)

Total GCVW = 29,980lb (23,000lb rated)

These weights all included full fuel in all but the R/C, me, and miscellaneous camping gear and parts.

The dually sat pretty level with the load on it, you definitely loose the ride in the rear end though, the bumps get a bit more harsh.

Now for the pulling part. I have an Edge EZ running it on level 4, DPP 4” exhaust and a BD X-Monitor to keep everything in check. Also have a Scotty Air III on the way that isn’t here just yet.

First max reading from the X-Monitor.

Fuel Pressure = none, they sent me the wrong wire harness so I don’t have it up yet.

Turbo Boost = 38. 1

EGT Temp = 1220 deg

Traveled down one stretch of interstate at 70mph for about 20 miles. Set the cruise and the thing pulled great and hung right in their on the hills. Full throttle up hills got the EGT at around 1175 and the boost at 32. The 1220 reading was going up the on ramp full throttle through the gears. The rest of the trip was 2 lane roads with rolling hills and the cruise set at around 62mph. The EGT at full throttle on this road was hard to get above 1050 must be because of the lower rpm at lower speeds. Still pulled good and had lots of power for the hills.

I am very pleased and surprised how well it pulls the big load. The EZ makes the thing totally different to pull with. I couldn’t be happier. I expected to have EGT problems, that is why the Scotty is on the way, but it will still be a good thing as the filter minded gets sucked down to 65% with a clean filter now, so it wants more air.

Thanks for the report, I don't really need an EZ but may get one just cuz more is better right??

One thing is I sure don't want to mess with making more noise from the intake cuz the 03 db level is what made me buy the CTD over the Hemi. The 02's were just too noisy for me.

Anyone running "just" the EZ with no other mods and have trouble with intake flow?

With mine the intake noise was not increased. Even putting the 4" exhaust added very little sound volume except when accelerating.

Mopar Mudder... . do you go to the 4 Wheel Jamboree in Indy in September? I may be going again this year.

I have the EZ and an aFe filter replacement and haven't noticed any more noise.
