HeberRam's Idle!

Since its always a hit with the crowd I did I video of it quickly at May Madness. Enjoy... ... ...



I'm trying to edit the annoying hiss, hiss sound out of it. I'm pretty sure thats my camara making the noise its definatly not Steve's truck.

Sounds like my VW TDI when I roll up to a stoplight.....



I expected more of a 3/4 cam sound - like a Detroit that has been adjusted to bounce off the governor at idle.



Explain a little more about his cam - I wanna know some specs... . or just tell us what is different from OEM.

It doesn't have a cam. Steve's truck has a DD race vp-44 pump and big injectors. He can tell you specifically which ones if he wants to respond.

I didn't realize I needed a tune-up? Nate's right , Running DD modified Vp-44 injection pump and ( currently ) DD's Mega-Mentals injectors. Just stock cam... The larger the injectors I run the louder the noise, and more loppy the idle. People always come up to me and say" what the hell's wrong with your truck?" Nothing I say, it's suppose to sound like that... Most people walk away and think I'm nuts!!! Maybe I am... :--)

Everyone always comments it sounds like he has a big cam in there, thats why I worded the link that way. Ironically he is on the stock camshaft



Although I figured by now he would have one.

Your truck is awsome. That video doesn't do it justice. For those of you that haven't heard Steve's truck, its killer. Got a chance to dyno in Steves truck and can still hear that lumpy sound.

I'm going to try and have someone clean up the audio side of it. Not sure when it will be tho, I'll make a note of it when I do. Hope to remove that "hiss, hiss" sound.

In person this truck is more than awsome the injectors inject so hard it sounds like a bunch of jackhammers.

That sure sounds like the wind Eric. It sounds good,, just too bad you didn't get some "action" in the video, or him revvin' it up.

Not only does it sound sweet at an idle from outside the truck, it also sounds bad a$$ from the inside, both at idle and when he romps on it,,, That is one wicked truck! Had a chance to ride in it @ the Idaho bomb party several months ago on the way to a bar in Caldwell, ID. That was a blast BTW! Oo. Oo.

Steve, what do you run for a street injector? how's the smoke issue?



heck, getting that sound for an idle would be worth it to get a 24v

98... . street injectors Super Mentals. In a few days EDM from Don M. #5's going in. Don't know what the sound will be like then???.
