I want to put a cam into my 2001 truck but i dont know what whats the best cam out on the market. Does anyone klnow where the best place to buy a helix cam and info about the cam.

I got ahold of jetpilot, he gave me alot of helpful information and the best part was that he did not try to sell me anything. I was just wondering if anyone else was running that cam and their feed back. By the was what type of jet do jet pilot fly.

Don't know what kinda jets Doug flew.

Is your truck a 2nd gen or 3rd gen?

Valve springs are recommended on the Helix 2 and I believe they are required on the Helix 3. I could very well be wrong on that though. I had well over . 040" free coil, but in some applications, that may vary. I think I am on the ragged edge of the stock spring.

I plan on doing the springs when I put the compounds on the truck.

Looks you and I are in the same boat. Install was not bad, but you gotta have some "special" tools, a good complement of mechanics tools and be mechanically inclined. Mistakes will spank you big time!!

You'll also need to press off the cam gear and pull the key out of the stocker and reinstall on the new cam. That is the fun part as it involves using your wife's, girlfriends, or mother's oven to heat the gear up in. :-laf
