Hello from western Washington

I didn't see a newcomer's forum, so I guess this is the best place to say hello to the community. I'm a first time Cummins owner (had diesel boats for years). My rig is a gen3 2500 with the 5.9. I bought it used with a fair number of miles, but it ran very, very well. For about 6000 miles. Suddenly lots of smoke, blow-by and very low compression in #1. Turned out to be broken rings. Just installed a fresh rebuild this week, and am back on the road.

You probably already know this, but watch your oil level carefully and if you see it increasing, look for a bad injector at that #1 hole.
Hopefully your good to go.
