First Missouri Meeting

BD Dyno Day--April 15th

Just thought I'd drop a note to say hi and go over a few small things. As most of you already know I'm the President of the GLTDR. As such I have always read everything in the chapter forums to keep up with what all of the other chapters are doing. Because I already read everything in these forums I figured that I would volunteer to moderate it and was picked for the job.
One of the biggest things that us moderators are going to be trying to do is to get people posting in the proper forum. Let me first say that I have been as guilty about this as anyone else! One of the ways we are going to be doing this is to start moving posts to their proper area when we see it in the wrong area. Our hope is that by moving the messages that people will start posting in the proper areas all by themselves. The worst forum for this is the 24v forum and boy is Mike Vonada going to have a big job there! I have in the past posted messages in that forum and also the 12v forum to try to bring people into the chapter forums to check out information on the GLTDR. I won't be doing this any more and I ask that you don't either.

Now onto the chapter forums directly. We have two chapter forums here, one is for Local and Regional Chapters, the other Local and Regional Events. There are many posts in the chapters forum (including mine) that should be in the events forum. What I ask is that if your message is in relation to an upcoming event please post it in the events forum. If it's about forming a chapter, talking about an event that already happened, questions on how to form a chapter, or other chapter related stuff please post it in the chapter forum. If you are forming a new chapter via a first meeting post a message on the event forum with a date and details, then post a message on the chapter forum that you are starting up a new chapter and point over to the message in the event area (if you need help on how to do this email me). If you wish to attend that event specifically post your responses in the event forum and things related to the group but not that event specifically in the chapter forum.

I will be moving messages over to the events forum today that I feel should be there. Thanks in advance for your cooperation with sorting out all of the forums. I'm sorry if my moving your message offends you, if so please email me directly at stevest@voyager.net so we can discuss it.

Lastly, I have been talking with Robert Patton over the last month or so regarding the chapters. The "TDR Local chapters, what and who are they?" section of the magazine is going to disappear after the next magazine. Very few of the groups on that list actually ever did anything. It has been a very unproductive use of the space in the magazine. There will still be some chapter news published in the magazine to draw people to the chapters and to the website. On the other hand look at all of the great groups that have formed here on the website, from a quick look at the messages we have the Calgary area RAMMERS, Houston area (Lone Star Rammers?), NW Bombers, So Cal, North East, San Jose Ram Runners, Eastern Iowa, Colorado, Great Lakes TDR, South Eastern TDR, and Tulsa!! That's quite a few chapters formed since the website went up in August! If anyone has any questions regarding the forming of a chapter please feel free to email me and I will help you in any way that I can.

Let's have a blast with the chapter forums and again if you have any questions or complaints please feel free to contact me directly.

You guys in Indiana check out the GLTDR (of which I'm the President) at http://my. voyager.net/stevest/gltdr.htm . We are trying to get events going in each of our members state's but need people in those states to organize something - so far our first event was at my house and we now have an event scheduled up in the UP of MI (not published yet - just discussed it last night).

I have already sent in the $10 Steve. Depending on how hard it is to do a smokin party I might host one, but it is almost as far south as I can go and still be in Indiana. And I'm lazy, so unless its real easy I won't do one.
