Anybody know if the Hellwig HD rear anti-sway bar will clear the Mag Hytec differential cover on an '01 2500 4x4?

I'm lookin for something better than stock for my slide-in camper... .

A little help....

I have a Dana 70, and must admit the clearance is tight..... can just fit a finger between the bar and the Mag-hytec. I don't go off road, run empty all the time, and don't tow.

Not sure if the dimensions of the Dana 80 are different. Might call Mag-hytec and ask. The weight of your camper might be too much?? The Hellwig is ~1/4" thicker than stock.

Wow, is that all??

I heard the Hellwig was 1 1/4" dia. , and the stock is about 3/4" isn't it?

I can't get thru to their tech line, so thought others here might be running this combo... .

I was told the stock one is 1'', so going to 1 1/4'' raises the cross section from:

1" diam= . 785 sq in.

1 1/4" diam= 1. 23 sq in.

That a 50% increase

I agree with 24V-DSL, 1 1/8 inch diameter.

I am 2WD, and I installed my own. The install is such. it would not require too much effort to slide the bar back to get a little clearence.

My stock bar measured... . I'm gonna say, 7/8" dia. Definetly less than 1".

It was very dark and hard to juggle a flashlight and tape measure.

I have the Helwig on my 96 4X4 with a Mag Hytec cover on a Dana 80 and it fits with plenty of clearance. The Helwig works a whole lot better than a stock one and if you ever get in an off road situation where you need more axle articulation, a 9/16 wrench will easily disconnect the tie into the frame and render the bar useless and let your axle move easier.
